2027 Refund Policy

Third-Party Registration Protection

RunSignup offers optional Registration Protection insurance at checkout through a third party. This policy is governed entirely by the insurance provider's terms and is completely separate from the DQ Events Refund Policy. If you purchased this protection and need to file a claim, you must process it directly through the third-party provider.

Refunds, Deferrals & Transfers

All changes must be made before 11:59 PM on Race Day Eve (the night before the race).

• Partial Refunds: A 35% refund (excluding RunSignup processing fees) is available until Race Day Eve.
• Deferrals ($40 Fee): Defer your entry to the following year’s edition of the same event. Deferrals expire at the end of the next calendar year.
• Race-to-Race Transfers ($40 Fee): Transfer your entry to a different DQ Events race held within the current calendar year only.
• Sub-Event Transfers (No Fee): You may switch sub-events within the same race weekend (e.g., switching from the Triathlon to the Duathlon or AquaBike) at any time through Race Day. There is no transfer fee, though participants are responsible for paying any event price difference.

Self-Service Requirement

All partial refunds, deferrals, and transfers must be managed directly by the participant through their RunSignup profile. DQ Events staff cannot manually process refunds or transfers via email, contact form, or social media.

Weather & Cancellation Policy (Force Majeure)

All races are held rain or shine under the direction of local emergency, law enforcement, and municipal safety officials.

In the event of severe weather, natural disasters, smoke/air quality alerts, municipal permit revocations, public health emergencies, or other unexpected safety hazards beyond our control (Force Majeure / Acts of God), DQ Events reserves the right to delay, alter, or cancel the event.

If an event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, no cash refunds will be issued. All active registrations will automatically roll over to the following year's event. As with all athletic events, registration proceeds are immediately committed to nonrefundable operational expenses.

Race Expenses

As with all events, proceeds from the event are used to cover the numerous nonrefundable pre and post-race expenses required to produce the event (e.g. permits, police/traffic, security, shirts, finisher medals, awards, refreshments, bibs, timing chips, equipment, bike racks, event staff, signage, event supplies, restrooms, etc.).
